These are super easy to make and are sure to have their recipients ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Read on for the tute ;)
You will need:
(three) 8" by 1/2" wide strips
(two) 6" by 1/2" wide strips
(one) 2" by 1/2" strip
glue
stapler
1. Make Figure 8 Loops with the Strips
Start with the longs strips. Fold over one end of the loop and brings its tail back to the center of the strip.
Repeat with the other end of the strip, making sure you create a figure 8. To avoid having your bow look flat, try to make sure that the overlapping ends are close to being on top of one another, this will "puff" you loops up a bit.
Secure the bow in place with a few dabs of glue. If you're loop looks lopsided (What a mouth-full!) you probably didn't make a figure 8, undo the last loop and loop it to the other side.
Repeat for all three long strips.
Repeat with your two small strips as well.
2. Arrange the Loops to Create the Bow
Starting with the big loops, create the base like pictured. Glue each loop in place.
Glue the two smaller loops together, as shown, to create the top.
Place the top onto the base so that its top and bottom points are between two points of the base.
Use the 2" strip to create a small loop around your thumb and secure the ends with a dab of glue.
Attach the loop to the center of the bow with a staple. This will make sure the bow stays together.
And there you have it! Much better than buying one, right?
