Summer is upon us and my frizz is out of control. I love headbands, but for some reason they never seem to fit my head. They either squeeze me to death or they slip off every 10 minutes. I decided to make some. I experimented with a few different designs and found a couple that were PERFECT! Read on to find out how to make your own!
The Fabric Braid Headband
This one is so comfortable and stays in place ALL DAY and therefore gets the "Best All Around" award.
To whip this one up you'll need:
(3) 18"-24" strips of fabric (matching or non)
some ribbon (scraps will do)
2 skinny ponytail holders with the metal band
glue + glue gun
Tie or sew the 3 strips together at the end.
Braid them together until you get to the end.
Sew both ends and trim the excess.
Cut the metal bands off of 2 skinny elastic ponytail holders.
Sew the elastic bands to one end of the braid.
Using hot glue, close up the ends around the elastic bands.
Then cover the ends with ribbon and a little hot glue :)
This one was a close second!
I've always had a thing for Grecian inspired accessories {even before gladiator sandals were cool} so that's where this idea came about. I used 6 strands of bow wire (braided with 3 sections of 2 wires each) a simple gold grosgrain, and a snazzy gold woven ribbon and secured them as shown above.
Makes me want to watch "300" again.
More headbands to come!
