I've been thinking ahead to this summer and wondering how on earth I'm going to get 3 kids on and off the beach. Although we generally pack light, we still manage to lose or forget things constantly. I also hate that what is so neatly packed on the way in, somehow seems to multiply and we struggle to get everything back to the car. I realized that the biggest source of stress are the towels. By the time we leave, they're wet and sandy and for a small child it's nearly impossible to carry drag. Even with a beach cart or wagon they're the first things to slip off (bringing other items with them), get caught in the wheels, or just plain weigh things down. Ever the solution-maker, I designed the Beach Towel Backpack!
I whipped this up using two standard beach towels. I included a pocket perfect for carrying those must-have beach items: sunscreen, water, chapstick, sunglasses, etc.
So big deal, a bag made out of a towel that holds a towel and some items... why not just pack a regular backpack? There's a secret...
