Have all your party guests bowing down to you and your ridiculously cute and clever party favors. Fruit cocktail cans never looked so good!
Materials:
fruit cocktail cans (with the pop top)
paper (scrapbook squares are perfect!)
glue or snail adhesive
ribbons
stampers or stickers
loot for the poppers
Tools:
a safe edge can opener
glue gun
Step 1: Open the Can
Seems simple enough... if you can remember not to use the pop top!
Use the safe edge can opener on the BOTTOM of the can. We need to preserve that pop top if you want the awesomest favor ever. You can rip off that label too.
Step 2: Fill 'er Up!
Put the loot inside a few sheets of tissue paper and lightly hold it at the top, much like a little loot bag. Keeping the opening of the tissue paper UP, place it into the can so that the battom of the tissue paper is at the bottom of the can. Use your glue gun to close the can up. Apply lots of pressure here to make sure that the can is sealed.
Step 3: Make it Purdy
You can use any paper you like, but I really like the big scrapbooking squares because you can find really awesome designs and colors, and they're cheap- you can fit 5 "labels" per sheet. Once you cover the can, you can use ribbon to make a border at the top and bottom. I personally like to cover the top as well. For that just cut your circle to fit into the top and then make a small notch at the bottom to accommodate the pop top.
Using rubber stampers I made a cute little tag for the favor. I wanted to jazz it up a little bit so I used the delicious ribbon I found at walmart of all places.
I added a little ribbon to the pop top and...
If that doesn't impress them... well then they're probably your in-laws! Hahahaha! (A note to my in-laws... this is in no way directed at you! I lucked out and got good ones!!!)
